Corporate Social Responsibility

We feel a strong need to fulfill our social responsibilities as a corporation based in the Philippine. With a keen awareness of the importance to work with the community, we have looked for efficient ways to contribute to the community development. Currently our main activities in relation to corporate social responsibility (CSR) comprise scholarship program and training. The former is to award a scholarship to study for 2 years in a college. On the other hand, the latter is to train people to become a competent human resource and secure his/her employment.

1. Scholarship Program
This scholarship program is to provide funding needed to study in a technical college, Dualtech or Don Bosco, for 2 years. The qualified persons for the program are high school graduates with excellent result, but those who can not continue to study due to financial constraints. The program is being implemented in collaboration with our partner, Gawad Kalinga. Just recently two students, Mr. Israel Gonzales and Mr. Minalito Cagillon, received a scholarship for the year of 2007.

2. Training

1) Technical Training in Japan

The technical training program ……..Kanagawa or Okinawa for 3 or 6 months period.

Aside from giving our employees an intensive on-the-job training overseas, they also find time for leisure, expound their knowledge on Japanese culture and heritage and explore different places in Japan. This cultural awareness also plays an important key to strengthen relationship and communication thus eliminating cultural barriers and misconceptions of behaviors towards the achievement of corporate goals and targets.

The total number of employees sent to Japan for training is continuously increasing for the past 2 years. As of this year, cumulatively 31% of employees from the manufacturing department were sent to Japan for training.

"Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit." - Aristotle –
